Sesame Honey Salmon Recipe - I was skeptical about making fish in the Instant Pot. It wasn’t until I had the butteriest, most perfectly flaky salmon from the pressure cooker that I was sold on this way of making it. A simple marinade and a good piece of fish, and you’ll be serving an elegant dinner in no time at all. You can broil the salmon after cooking if you prefer a browned finish, but you won’t need to. In fact, if you do so, be careful not to dry the fish out too much. Try the recipe as written once and then you can play around.

Instant Pot: Sesame Honey glaze Salmon Recipe

Ingredients for Sesame Honey Salmon:

  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds

How to Make Easy Sesame Honey Salmon:

  1. Place the salmon in a 6-inch round heatproof pan. In a small bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes and season with salt and black pepper. Whisk to combine. Pour the mixture over the salmon. Allow the salmon to sit at room temperature for 15 to 30 minutes.
  2. Pour the water into the Instant Pot. Place a steamer rack in the pot. Place the pan with the salmon on the rack.
  3. Secure the lid on the pot. Close the pressure-release valve. Select MANUAL and set the pot at LOW pressure for 3 minutes. At the end of the cooking time, allow the pot to sit undisturbed for 5 minutes, then release any remaining pressure.
  4. Sprinkle with the sesame seeds. Serve the salmon immediately, or transfer it to a baking sheet and broil for 3 to 4 minutes to get a glossy, browned finish.
