Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Recipe (Calories) - Growing up in South Carolina, we often enjoyed biscuits and gravy, one of the ultimate comfort foods! I created and tested this recipe with my dad by my side, just like the old day... but without all the carbs!

Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Recipe (Calories)

Ingredients for Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Recipe:

  • 4 ounces bulk breakfast sausage
  • 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ⅓ cup half-and-half
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 batch 60-Second Mug Biscuits, for serving
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Directions for Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Recipe:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, brown the sausage, using a wooden spoon or spatula to break up the clumps of meat.
  2. Add the cream cheese and stir until blended. Pour in the half-and-half and stir until well mixed.
  3. Allow the gravy to reduce over medium heat until the desired consistency is reached, 3 to 5 minutes, then remove from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Serve the gravy over the biscuits. Garnish with parsley, if desired.
